The Adventures of Qubit the Cat

Hey there! My name’s Tara and I’m a PhD student at the University of Cambridge. My research focuses on automatically tuning up Quantum Dot devices , or, in simple terms, figuring out how to get silicon quantum computers working!

I grew up in a small town in Ireland and, when I was younger, I had no idea what science really was. I thought scientists had to look like mad geniuses, like Einstein, and I didn’t even know science could be a real job.

That’s a perception I think a lot of young people still have, and I’m on a mission to change it!
